Excerpts from In the Event of Ignition

In the Event of Ignition consists of a series of prints and investigations that collectively addresses the catastrophic relationship between forest fires and climate change. Specifically, the works in this series focuses on the vulnerability of the boreal forests in Siberia, a vast area of wilderness subjected over the last decades to an unprecedented number of forest fires. The accumulative impacts of forest fires on the planet include irreversible loss of biodiversity, water and air transfer of pyrogenic pollutants, the change of migration routes for birds, ground and water animals, and an acceleration of large scale outbreaks of disease.
